Quieren realidad…?

Reality shows in my humble opinion…
(part 1)
The first reality show that I tried to watch was Big Brother (never seen one from end to end). This concept was mentioned in George Orwell’s book: 1984. In this novel, Orwell describes a future society that is under heavy repression where all people was constantly observed and judged.
Years later, as a part of a profitable project where the objective is solely to make stupid amounts of money; the big TV networks started this harmful and banal trend called: “Reality TV”; where a controlled environment is created with expensive sets and production so they can place people with a lack of principles acting like dummies in order to be treated as guinea pigs.
Many people took this concept as entertainment and nowadays the TV networks and people in the show biz make a lot of money with this ethical outrage.
But what is wrong with this…? If you ask me: “everything”. TV networks are feeding from the already humongous ignorance of their audience.
Is agonizing that a former rock star is looking for his “bride” among a bunch of airhead sluts that are trying to be elected… to be honest, this is just depressing.
Shows like “American Idol” are giving the impression that they are forming “true” artists/singers… guess what!? They are not…! They are just feeding the already overwhelming existence of plastic music. So I guess that the best name for this is “American Idiot”.
Bottom line… We need to get up our couch and turn the TV off and do something about it… the Reality TV is in my opinion, one of the social diseases that we actually have the cure… start by changing the channel… and maybe you will be able to have a different kind of conversation with your friends.
Reality shows are everything except Real!
